A hot, humid day is a lot more pleasant on the back of a motorcycle, isn’t it? The Minnesota Motorcycle Safety Center (MMSC) understands. There’s nothing like opening up that bike on an open stretch of road in the summertime.

And whether this is your first year as a motorcyclist, or whether you’re an old hand at riding, there’s a motorcycle training course for you. You don’t have to be a beginner to benefit from a motorcycle training course at one of the 28 locations throughout Minnesota. There are intermediate, advanced, and expert courses available too. And if motorcycles aren’t quite your thing, there are moped and three-wheeler training courses as well (the three-wheeler training courses end this week, though, so register now).

As you gain experience, you can challenge yourself to take a training course every year or two to keep your riding skills sharp — after all, training can make a huge difference in avoiding crashes. You can find details about all of the training courses on the MMSC’s website, including eligibility requirements for each level.

Just in case you think you might be the only one considering taking a motorcycle training course, it might interest you to know that 2,325 Minnesotans participated in training in April and May of this year alone. And there are four months to go in this year’s training season! Most training sites offer courses through September.

So check it out and register online for the motorcycle training course of your choice. It’ll make your riding season more fun, and – more importantly – a lot safer. Happy summer and happy riding!
