Community Crime Intervention and Prevention (CCIP) Grant Program
Description of the program
CCIP funds community-based crime and violence prevention and intervention programs that provide direct services to community members.
This grant program funds a wide variety of community-based programs to address the factors that contribute to a community’s crime, delinquency, and disorder. Funded program focuses have included:
- Youth-focused
- Elder-focused
- Education
- Internship/Employment services
- Shelter services
- Housing
- Gun violence intervention
- Street outreach
- Truancy Intervention
- Probation services
- Legal services
- Advocacy
- Advocacy services
- Sexual exploitation
- Restorative practices
- Prevention
- Intervention
All programs are encouraged to be innovative, use best and emerging practices, and include substantial involvement by members of the community that is served by the program.
The appropriation for SFY 2024-25 was $31,814,200. Grants range in size from $65,000 to $525,000 for two years. CCIP funding currently supports 109 programs statewide.
Who is eligible to apply
Grants will be awarded to private and public nonprofit agencies; local units of government, including cities, counties, and townships; local educational agencies; and Tribal Nations. Eligible applicants must be registered with the Minnesota Secretary of State.
Next funding opportunity, next grant period
The Request for Proposals for the next grant period was released in May 2025. Funding for these grants will span January 1, 2026-December 31, 2027.
