School threats and dangerous weapons reporting
Educational institutions are required by Minnesota law to report after-action information about dangerous weapons, active shooter, swatting/hoax communication or other threat incidents with a nexus to their institution to the Minnesota Department of Education and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety's Minnesota School Safety Center and Minnesota Fusion Center. This requirement went into effect on July 1, 2025.
Respondents should use the form below to begin the reporting process. Members of the public should report incidents to their local law enforcement agency.
This form should only be used to submit incidents after they have occurred and been resolved. Emergency, emerging or imminent threat incidents should be reported directly to local law enforcement.
