State law allows individuals who are subjects of data available through the Integrated Search Service to find out which agencies have records about them. They are also entitled to information about the general nature of those records.

Prior to visiting one of the above agencies to request a report, contact the agency at the number provided to determine any proof of identity or other information you may need to provide.
Minnesota statute lays out the procedure you must follow if you wish to contest the accuracy or completeness of public or private data about you. In the statute, “responsible authority” refers to the agency name, address, and phone number listed within the report you received at your local or state law enforcement agency. The responsible authority does not refer to the list of law enforcement agencies referenced above to obtain the report.
