Fake emails and texts imitating DVS
Scam alert!
The Department of Public Safety and Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) will never ask for information or money by text.
You may have received emails or texts requesting payment for outstanding traffic tickets or penalties from the "Minnesota Department of Motor Vehicles". That agency does not exist, and those penalties likely don't either.
You may also get messages from "Minnesota (DVS)" or "Minnesota Department of Vehicle Administration (DMV)". These are also scams.
Remember, we will never send a text asking for money or saying money is due.
