What We Do

As a strategic partner with all twelve divisions, we strive to develop and deliver innovative human resource programs and services designed to increase the performance of the DPS workforce. Our core services include recruitment and retention, staffing, compensation, employee/labor relations, organizational development, employee benefits, wellness, safety and training.
 

Related Minnesota Statutes

The department coordinates the functions and services of the state relating to the safety and convenience of its citizens (Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 299A).

Yvonne Shorts Lind is a seasoned attorney and Human Resources professional with over 15 years of experience in human resources, employment law, employee benefits and training. Her areas of expertise include equal employment opportunity (EEO) compliance, leaves of absence, performance management and employee benefits. Yvonne has worked in both the private and public sectors including previously serving as an Assistant Attorney General. Passionate about diversity and inclusion, Yvonne has worked on D&I initiatives in other industries. She graduated from Mitchell Hamline School of Law (formerly William Mitchell), cum laude, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California, Riverside.
 
Human Resources has a full-time staff of 14 at the Saint Paul, Town Square location.
