Offices of Missing and Murdered

For law enforcement and other professionals

Law enforcement and first responders at the MMIR day of remembrance 2025

The MMIR office provides a variety of services to law enforcement to support and aid in their investigations in active missing persons or homicide cases with an Indigenous victim.

This includes collecting, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting crime and incident data in order to evaluate past performance and identify criminal activity patterns and trends for operational deployment, tactical intervention, strategic planning, and management analysis, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and facilitating the exchange of intelligence and information between relevant agencies and organizations.

Our Intelligence Specialist has also supported various medical examiners with locating next of kin and support identifying indigenous relatives.
