ST. PAUL — Department of Public Safety Commissioner Mona Dohman has appointed William Mohr, M.D. to the Governor’s Council on Fire Prevention and Control. Dr. Mohr replaces Dr. George Peliter. Dr. Mohr currently works at Regions Hospital Burn Center. Dr. Mohr and the Regions Hospital Burn Center have been very active in fire and burn prevention for many years. Dr. Mohr’s appointment runs through Dec. 31, 2014.
The 1969 Legislature established the Governor’s Council on Fire Prevention and Control. The council’s mission is to develop fire education, protection and prevention services for the citizens of Minnesota. The council is made up of up to 15 members, who are appointed by the commissioner of Public Safety. Council members represent a diverse range of organizations, including fire safety professions and those affected by fire safety activities or regulations.
