Congestion Expected on I-94 Near Collegeville on Saturday
State Patrol Asks Motorists to Plan Ahead for St. John’s vs. St. Thomas Football Game
ST. PAUL — The Minnesota State Patrol is asking motorists to plan ahead if travelling I-94 near Collegeville on Saturday. The St. John’s football game against St. Thomas is expected to draw a large crowd and may impact traffic on the freeway, as it has in previous years.
The game begins at 1 p.m., but increased traffic is expected earlier in the day with the addition of ESPN “Sports Center on the Road” broadcasting live from the area on Saturday morning.
Motorists headed to the game or traveling through that area are asked to plan ahead for possible congestion; especially between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Highway 10 and Highway 55 are possible optional routes for motorists looking to avoid congestion on I-94.
Motorists are also asked to watch for State Patrol Troopers who will have an increased presence in the area.
