Still No Lead in Gaylord Hit and Run Crash
Offering $5,000 Reward - Benefit For John Byro Planned for Saturday

Gaylord, MN — On October 27, 2011 John Byro was riding his motorcycle on Hwy 19 and 5 near Gaylord when he collided with another vehicle. Details of the crash are not yet known. Currently, it is believed that John’s motorcycle collided with the rear of the other vehicle; possibly a light-colored SUV or passenger car. The driver of the other vehicle never stopped. John is in serious/critical condition and is unable to tell anyone what happened.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the resolve of this case and identifying the missing driver or vehicle. There have been no leads to further information.

Dave Byro, John’s father, tells us, “John is the kind of person people gravitate to; everyone wants to be around him.”  John’s father is frustrated that the answers are not coming. The Byro family was grateful when John returned home safely after two tours in Iraq, and his father says, “My son [John] wanted to continue his public service and was enrolled in a law enforcement program, we are so very proud of him.”

If you have information about this crash please contact the Minnesota State Patrol at 507-285-7410. Members of the media may contact John's father, Dave Byro, at 507-920-8923.
