Border state residents
Rider training and testing — motorcycle license
Border state residents
Out of state residents may be eligible to obtain their motorcycle endorsement in Minnesota depending on their state license policy.
How it works:
- Attendees need to contact their respective state license bureau to confirm eligibility.
- Iowa will accept an out-of-state Basic Rider Course completion card for licensure, but may require a retest. Please confirm with Iowa license center.
- North Dakota and Wisconsin will accept an out-of-state Basic Rider Course completion card for licensure. Please confirm with North Dakota and Wisconsin license center.
Minnesota residents
Minnesotans who complete a BRC in any other state are not able to waive the Minnesota motorcycle skills test to obtain the Minnesota motorcycle license endorsement. Either the Basic Rider Course will need to be completed again in Minnesota or the rider will need to pass the riding skills test at a DVS exam station.
