As chief information officer for the Department of Public Safety, Paul Meekin manages the information technology (IT) staff as well as the ong
oing consolidation of IT efforts.
Meekin brings nearly 25 years of IT experience. He has served as project director for the DVS replacement system (MNLARS) project.
Meekin also has held IT positions in a range of industries, including: technology and software companies, consulting, insurance, mortgage and government. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Marquette University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Maryland.
MN.IT Services @ DPS is responsible for continuity of information technology for agency divisions and locations throughout the state. The IT staff include a range of technology professionals and support personnel, which include:
- Project managers, systems analysts, business analysts, programmers, architects and technical writers
- Specialists in security, website, database, mainframe, system operations and network infrastructure
- DPS service desk.
