Youth fire intervention training
There is training available for those in the fire service who are interested in helping with youth fire intervention. You can register on our training website for these National Fire Academy classes.
Youth Fire Intervention Specialist
This two-day National Fire Academy accredited course provides an overview of NFPA 1035.
Participants will learn about what our youth fire problem is, who sets fires and why, primary prevention, identification and intake, and interviewing and intervention strategies.
Upon completion, students will be able to conduct a youth fire assessment using prepared forms and understand when and how a referral to mental health is made.
Youth Fire Intervention Program Manager
This two-day National Fire Academy accredited course is designed for the person who is or will be leading a youth fire intervention program.
Topics covered include program development and evaluation, coalition building, community awareness, budget and funding, data collection and record keeping.
Prerequisite: Youth Fire Intervention Specialist.
