Washington State home safety plan
The office of the Washington State Fire Marshal has developed a guide to assist as you develop your home safety visit plan. The guide includes information on starting a program, identifying high risk areas, gaining trust, organizing your program and much more. You can find more information on their website
Vision 20/20 has resources and links to help departments further develop a home safety visit program. The website
includes video to share how the program worked for other departments.
Friendship Fire Company in Alexandria, Virginia, has developed a series of videos that can be shared during the home safety visit on a smartphone or tablet. The videos are in seven languages and on four different fire safety topics.
The app can be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store by searching for "Friendship Fire Company."
