Chief Deputy State Fire Marshal
In some areas of the state, you may start seeing a few new faces in the State Fire Marshal Division (SFMD).
The first staffing change is actually not someone new to SFMD at all. Deputy State Fire Marshal Jake Lindquist, who's served as the division's training coordinator for the last four years, has accepted the position as our new school inspector for the metro region. Jake's first day with the School Inspection Team was Wednesday, July 21.
In addition to his time as training coordinator, Jake brings over 17 years' experience in the fire alarm and fire suppression systems industry. His expertise has been an enormous asset to the division, so we're excited to bring that knowledge and experience to the School Inspection Team.
Jake will be inspecting public schools, charter schools and school-based DHS licensed child care programs in the metro area, in addition to several western counties extending to the South Dakota border.
The Fire Investigation Team welcomes aboard Chris Clark as our newest fire investigator. Chris goes by the nickname “Clarkey," and his 33 years of fire experience will be an asset to the investigations team without a doubt. Chris comes to our division from Virginia Fire Department where he has spent the last nine years as fire marshal.
Chris looks forward to serving our great state as a fire investigator. He wants to be a resource to all the fire departments he will be serving and wants to provide quality fire investigation in the communities he serves. Chris brings with him a hard work ethic, team approach and good customer service.
We are also in final stages of hiring for our two new health care inspector positions. Keep an eye on the September newsletter for the announcement of those individuals.
