Fire Code Academy Paused for 2026; Planned Return in 2027

The State Fire Marshal (SFM) division announces that the Fire Code Academy (FCA) will be placed on pause for the 2026 calendar year. This decision was made after careful consideration of the significant workload associated with statewide code adoption currently facing the SFM team.

SFM recognizes the Fire Code Academy as a highly valuable training opportunity for fire service professionals, code officials, and stakeholders across the state. The Academy has played an important role in supporting consistent code understanding and application, and this decision was not made lightly.

While FCA will not be offered in 2026, SFM is committed to bringing the Fire Code Academy back in 2027. In the interim, professionals are encouraged to watch for 2026 Minnesota State Fire Code (MSFC) update trainings, which will continue to provide essential information and education.
