It’s the middle of the night. Suddenly, a piercing beep fills the air. What would you do? What would your children do? Would you automatically head for the front door blocked by flames instead of jumping out a window. Maybe — if you didn’t have an escape plan and practice it.

On the heels of several recent fire deaths, including two children in Hibbing, we’re reminding Minnesotans to practice their family escape plan. You and your family are more likely to safely escape a fire if you have created (and practiced) an escape plan.
