Minnesota Statute 626 governs the POST Board.


Minnesota Rules Chapter 6700 contains the rules governing the licensing, training, and standards for peace officers.


Overhaul of Rules Chapter 6700

The Board is beginning the process of revising all current rules governing the licensing and standards for peace officers in Minnesota. The Request for Comments published August 3, 2020, in the State Register explains how to make suggestions for rule changes and how to apply for a position on the Advisory Committee on POST Board Rules. Comments, suggestions, and applications for the Advisory Committee must be received by the Board no later than 4:30 p.m. on September 4, 2020.
