Interoperable Data Committee (Wireless Broadband)

The purpose of the Interoperable Data Committee is to advise the Statewide Emergency Communications Board on all matters relating to wireless broadband for public safety including consultation with FirstNet on the National Public Safety Broadband Network (NPSBN).

The Interoperable Data Committee meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. via conference call. Meeting materials must be submitted to the Board's coordinator no later than nine business days prior to the meeting.
Minutes will be posted when they approved by the board. Minutes are reviewed during the meeting immediately following any meeting of the board for which minutes are taken; e.g., minutes taken for the May meeting will be posted in June, and minutes taken for the June meeting will be posted in July.

FirstNet and Wireless Broadband for Public Safety

The future of information sharing involves significant changes to broadband networks. One of those changes will likely involve devoting a portion of broadband to public safety during emergencies. DPS/ECN is leading the effort to provide wireless broadband to Minnesota public safety officials. DPS/ECN staff members are working in coordination with the national effort organized under the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet).
For additional information about wireless broadband for public safety, including reports and FirstNet Consultation Project status updates, go to Wireless Broadband for Public Safety.
