Grants News and Updates

OJP News Archive

1/30/25

Dear OJP grantees,

The Office of Management and Budget at the White House sent a new memo (M-25-14) yesterday that rescinded the memo (M-25-13) that required federal executive branch agencies to temporarily pause federal grant programs. This means OJP work and OJP grantee work will continue business as usual.

We acknowledge that we are in a fast-changing environment. We will do our best to respond to you quickly and with helpful information.

We recognize that the last couple days have been disruptive and caused confusion and stress for you and the people you serve. Your work on behalf of Minnesotans is incredibly valued and supported.

Sincerely,

Kim Babine
Interim Executive Director

Dear OJP Grantees,

The Acting Director of the Office of Management and Budget at the White House sent a memo to federal executive branch agencies yesterday requiring them to temporarily pause federal grant and financial assistance programs. Minnesota Office of Justice Programs receives federal grant awards that fund some of our work and some of the work of our grantees. Minnesota OJP, Minnesota Department of Public Safety, and Minnesota Management and Budget are currently working to determine what this might mean for OJP programs and grantees. I'm sure you are curious about what this means for your work through your OJP grant. The answer is that we don’t know yet but are working as quickly as possible with our agency partners to determine the impacts and next steps.

I will share more as soon as we know more. Thank you for all you do on behalf of Minnesotans every day.

Sincerely,

Kim Babine
Interim Executive Director
Office of Justice Programs
Minnesota Department of Public Safety
