Local government convening 2026

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) first annual Local Government Convening was held on April 28-29, 2026 at the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension in St. Paul.

Hosted by the DPS Community Affairs team, this two-day gathering brought community engagement colleagues from across Minnesota together with DPS leaders to strengthen relationships, deepen coordination and build a shared understanding of how DPS divisions can support communities before, during and after critical safety incidents.
