Sign up for the AGE Citizen Academy by May 9
April 23, 2025
What’s the Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement (AGE) division all about? Sign up for the Citizen Academy at the Spring Lake Park-Blaine-Mounds View (SBM) Fire Department in Blaine and find out!
The Citizen Academy will run 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays from May 13 through June 10. Apply by May 9 by completing and signing the application, release and waiver forms. Send in by mail, email or return in person to the contact and address noted in the forms.
You’ll get the chance to meet K-9 Bia, a German shorthaired pointer who can sniff out currency that criminals have hidden away. She has found money in places like under furniture, behind a wall-mounted TV and underneath basement steps.
You’ll learn how AGE prevents bad actors from walking away with your cash from games like pull tabs, raffles and bingo. You’ll also hear how the enforcement of alcohol laws helps you enjoy a cold beer at your favorite bar.
Thank you for your interest in learning more about the valuable work of alcohol and gambling enforcement!
