BCA Asks Public’s Help Locating Vehicle Involved in May 2021 Shooting Death

ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) is seeking the public’s help locating a vehicle involved in the May 2021 shooting death of 9-year-old Trinity Ottoson-Smith in Minneapolis.
 
The vehicle is a maroon, 2014 Ford Fusion with Minnesota license plate 720 XRP. The vehicle’s license plates might have been removed and it is possible that the car is painted a different color (vehicle pictures).
 
Anyone with information related to this vehicle or this case is asked to contact the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension at 877-996-6222 or bca.tips@state.​mn.us, or call Crime Stoppers of Minnesota​ at 800-222-8477. Those with information might be eligible for a reward.
 
D’Pree Shareef Robinson, 19, was arrested Wed., Feb. 24 in Minneapolis​ in this case. Robinson was booked into the Hennepin County Jail on probable cause second-degree murder.
 
Trinity Ottoson-Smith was jumping on a trampoline in the backyard near a friend’s home on the 2200 block of N. Ilion Avenue in Minneapolis on May 15, 2021, when she was shot and injured. She died 12 days later at North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale.
 
This remains and active and ongoing investigation.
