BCA Investigates Brooklyn Park OIS

ST. PAUL, MINN.-- The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) has identified the Brooklyn Park police officer who discharged his weapon during an officer involved shooting in Brooklyn Park on July 21.
- Officer Hassan Robertson fired his department-issued squad rifle. He has been with the Brooklyn Park Police Department for five years.
The subject in this incident has been identified as Abdulwahid Hedo, 30, of Brooklyn Park. Officers responded to a home in Brooklyn Park on Thursday afternoon. At one point, there was an exchange of gunfire between Hedo and Officer Robertson. No one was hurt in this incident. Hedo was arrested and taken to the Hennepin County Jail.
Investigators recovered a semi-automatic pistol at the scene. The Brooklyn Park Police Department requested that the BCA investigate the incident. Once the investigation is complete, the BCA will present its findings without recommendation to the Hennepin County Attorney's Office for review.
