August 6, 2024

CORRECTION: Mr. Allen's arrest on Monday was based on the initial tip and additional information recovered when the search warrant was executed at his residence. The tip was unrelated to the childcare facility. Mr. Allen's alleged activities at the childcare facility are part of the BCA's investigation.

ST. PAUL — An employee of a Minneapolis childcare center has been arrested for allegedly capturing nude images of children at the facility.

Minnesota Department of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) predatory crimes agents arrested Eric Phillip Allen, 39, of Minneapolis on Monday.

BCA agents acting on a tip executed a search warrant at Allen's home Monday and located what appeared to be child sexual abuse material. The investigation determined that some of the nude images were captured at the childcare facility. BCA agents are working with the facility to identify the victims and notify the parents. The facility is fully cooperating with the investigation.

Allen is currently in the Hennepin County Jail on probable cause pornographic work involving minors.

BCA agents presented a case to Hennepin County prosecutors, who are expected to make a charging decision in the coming days. Additional information will be available in the criminal complaint.

Investigators are asking anyone with information relevant to the investigation to contact BCA predatory crimes agents at 651-793-7000.
