Criminal Justice Information Integration History

Minnesota’s criminal justice information integration efforts began in the early 1990s when the Legislature created the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Information Policy Group and Task Force to oversee criminal justice information policy. The Legislature also adopted a formalized effort known as CriMNet to identify and address information gaps. These steps along with the efforts, of agencies and organizations across the spectrum of our criminal justice system, have led to significant improvements to what data is collected and how it’s shared.
