FCC Filings
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) issues notices in advance of changing service rules or taking other regulatory action to manage the wireless spectrum. These actions frequently affect public safety in Minnesota.
FCC Technical Advisory Board for First Responder Interoperability
Under the Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012, the FCC was directed to establish the Technical Advisory Board for First Responder Interoperability. The goal of this board was to develop the recommended minimum technical requirements to ensure a nationwide level of interoperability for the Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network.
The board's final report was published May 22, 2012. The public was given 5 business days to respond to the notice. ECN filed its response to PS-Docket 12-74 on May 31, 2012.

NTIA RFIA on State and Local Implementation Grant Program
Under the Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) is directed to establish a State and Local Implementation Grant Program to assist state and local government in transitioning to the Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network. To assist in developing this program, the NTIA issued an RFI on May 11, 2012 asking stakeholders to provide their input on which objectives and supported activities should be included under the grant program.
ECN filed its response to the NTIA's RFI on June 15, 2012.
