Interpretations

The interpretations listed below represent the State Fire Marshal's determination regarding the enforcement of applicable sections of the Minnesota State Fire Code (MSFC) and are intended to represent how these issues should be enforced statewide.

All of the interpretations have been reviewed and updated to the 2020 MSFC. Several of the fire protection program interpretations are now in the fire code and removed. When an interpretation has been updated, it is noted with *2020 MSFC or (2020).
