Youth Experiencing Homelessness can still get a no-cost Minnesota ID
You never realize how often you need an ID until you don't have one. Even if you don't drive and don't need a driver's license, you need government-issued identification to apply for a job, purchase certain cold medicines or open a bank account. For youth experiencing homelessness, getting that ID can be tricky. That's why our Driver and Vehicle Services division (DVS) can help those kids get that card into their hands. The best part: they don't have to pay for it. If you know someone under 24 who doesn't have a fixed residence and needs an ID, you can help them get a standard Minnesota ID card as part of a program designed to help youth experiencing homelessness. DWI Enforcer All-Stars honored for saving lives, stopping bad decisions from turning tragic
Minnesota’s latest DWI Enforcer All-Star team hit it out of the park during a recent Twin’s game at Target Field. Actually, they hit it out of the park all of last year, which is why our Office of Traffic Safety (DPS-OTS) took the DWI Enforcer All-Stars out to the ball game to thank them for their hard work saving lives. Featuring 61 team members from law enforcement agencies across the state, the DWI Enforcer All-Stars kept all of us safe by taking impaired drivers off the road throughout 2021.
The All-Star team made a combined 4,193 DWI arrests across Minnesota in 2021, contributing to the more than 24,000 DWI arrests made by all law enforcement last year. Learn more about the DWI Enforcer All-Stars.
Minnesota State Patrol pilots offer eyes in the sky to keep you safe on the ground
Minnesota State Patrol troopers take to the skies to keep Minnesotans safe. The team of pilots in the flight section work alongside their counterparts on the ground to look for illegal, unsafe driving. They also do a whole lot more, partnering with other law enforcement agencies, the St. Paul Fire Department and the Department of Natural Resources.

Smoking is the leading cause of fire deaths in Minnesota, but you can prevent a smoking-related fire death in your home. If you or a loved one smoke, do it outside, and never do it around medical oxygen tanks.
