What is distracted Driving?
Distracted driving is anything that takes your attention away from operating your vehicle.
FACT
Distracted driving increases the chance of a crash.
STATS
In Minnesota, distracted driving contributes to an average of 46 deaths and 209 life-changing injuries a year.
Three types of distractions:
Visual - eyes are off the road
Manual - hands are off the steering wheel
Cognitive - mind is elsewhere
Texting while driving includes all three distractions (Visual, Manual and Cognitive), which is why the chance of a crash increases by 23 times.*
