​The Paynesville Police Department (population approximately 2,500) is currently accepting applications for a part-time Police Officer. 

The position is Grade 9/Step 1, $22.88 per hour plus pro-rated holidays, Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA), $500.00 City match annually for deferred comp, AFLAC, paid training opportunities, and more. Applicant for this position will fill day shifts every other weekend (Sat/Sun) and cover the PTO hours of full-time staff when needed up to 750 hours. 

To receive consideration, applicants must meet the minimum selection standards for a Peace Officer as detailed in the state law, possess a MN P.O.S.T. Board license, eligible to be licensed, or be able to be eligible to be licensed by date of appointment.

​The City of Madelia is accepting applications for a future full-time police officer position.  Madelia is a growing and thriving community of approximately 2,500 located within an easy 20 minute drive to Mankato and New Ulm.  Madelia is in the process of constructing a brand new government center to house city hall, police, and fire departments.  

Candidates must be POST licensed or eligible to be licensed.  Previous law enforcement experience is desirable, but not mandatory.  Cover letter, copy of full-time POST license or letter indicating eligibility to be licensed, resume, and completed application required.  Faxed documents and applications will not be accepted.  Madelia offers an excellent benefits package.  Officers may have on call hours a few hours before or after their work shifts compensated at $7.00/hr plus 3 hour minimum call out pay incentives.  Officers are required to live within 5 miles of the police department to meet the 15 minute response time while on call.
