The busyness of the holiday season is right around the corner which can result in shorter attention spans and less time to check off the to-do lists. That's why Chief Fire Investigator Jim Iammatteo explains the dos and don'ts Minnesotans should follow to stay fire safe over the coming months. 

Snow and egress

Snow comes in different forms: heavy wet and dry powder. One is more difficult to move than the other. But if you're going to get out of your house during a fire in a timely fashion, moving that snow from our entries and exits becomes very important in the winter. 

Why passing the smell test can be a problem

Minnesota isn't even officially into the winter season and our fire service is already responding to calls of carbon monoxide leaks and poisonings. This article highlights new ways to protect our homes and ourselves from the deadly gas.
