Minnesota Criminal Justice Dashboards

The Minnesota Criminal Justice Dashboard project is intended to make criminal justice statistical data more accessible to stakeholders, including the general public. Criminal justice data in Minnesota are managed by several different agencies, including the Minnesota Department of Corrections, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety (the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension), and the Minnesota State Court Administrator’s Office, among multiple other state and local agencies. Data are currently distributed on multiple agency websites (or via special request), and are usually presented in a series of tables in portable document format (PDF). The Minnesota Statistical Analysis Center (MNSAC) has transformed several of the most commonly requested criminal justice data into a series of “dashboards,” or graphs and charts that can be manipulated in order to meet the user’s specific needs.

The dashboards (linked below) are organized by sections of the criminal justice system, including arrests, state prison populations, and criminal supervision in the community (i.e., probation).
