COVID-19 ANNOUNCEMENT FOR CRIME VICTIMS


Advocacy programs remain open and crisis lines are running.

Anyone who is experiencing domestic abuse, sexual violence, or sex trafficking is encouraged to reach out and seek help. The Minnesota Day One Crisis Line is operating 24/7 at 1-866-223-1111 or by text at 621-399-9995. More information can be found on the Day One website.

Victims of other crimes are encouraged to contact the Minnesota Crime VIcitm Support Line (24/7) for information and referral at 1-866-385-2699 or text 612-399-9977.

Financial Assistance

Victims of violent crime can file a claim for reparations for certain expenses related to the crime.

Emergency funds may be available for certain victims.  
  

Crime Victim Rights   

Victims in Minnesota have statutory rights regarding notification, participation, compensation, and protection.
 
Victims who feel their crime victim rights have been violated or they have been mistreated by a member or entity of the criminal justice system can contact the Crime Victim Justice Unit.
