Targeted Violence Prevention Strategy

A team of law enforcement, mental health professionals, educators and community leaders developed a strategy that applies scientific research and evidence-based practices to prevent targeted violence in schools, workplaces and public spaces.

Sextortion victims, it’s not your fault!

Sextortion happens when someone shares an intimate image with someone they thought they could trust. Sextortion can come in different forms including demanding additional sexual content or, increasingly, demanding money or other payment from a child. Their shame over sharing the intimate image prevents them from telling a grownup, and the problem quickly gets out of control. If you are a victim of sextortion – don’t be ashamed. Don’t pay. And if you already did, don’t send more. Instead, get help. Tell your parents. Tell a trusted adult. Tell us. BCA tip line: 1-877-996-6222.
