Fingerprinting services
BCA fingerprinting services available by appointment only
To request an appointment for fingerprinting services at the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), please call 651-793-2410.
What to bring to the appointment
When you come to the BCA to be printed, be sure to bring the following items:
- Identification: Bring a valid government-issued photo identification. Here are some examples:
- State-issued driver's license
- State-issued identification
- Passport
- U.S. active duty, retiree or reservist military identification card
- If your ID is expired, remember to bring your renewal slip or you will not be able to get fingerprinted.
- Fee: The fee is $10 per fingerprint card. You can pay by cash, personal check or money order/cashier check. If you pay by check, make the check payable to the BCA.
- Documents: If you were provided background check documents, please bring them to your appointment.
The BCA provides official fingerprint cards approved by the FBI (also called FD-258 cards) or, if provided by your employer, you can bring your own card.
Once you are fingerprinted, you will receive a copy of your fingerprint card. The BCA does not provide or submit electronic versions of fingerprint cards.
