Criminal justice information services

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) holds information and helps connect information from different sources in the criminal justice system. The agency’s technology section, called Minnesota Justice Information Services (MNJIS), manages and develops data systems and ensures that information is kept secure and only available to those with legal access to it.

Criminal justice agency services

MNJIS also facilitates access to and exchange of information between sources of criminal justice data, providing technology and services to help agencies solve crimes, prosecute offenders and protect Minnesotans and all who visit our state. 

MNJIS works under the direction of the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Information and BCA Advisory Group.
