The Breath Testing Section trains law enforcement personnel in breath-alcohol testing procedures, evaluates and maintains breath-alcohol testing instruments and provides expert testimony for Implied Consent and Driving While Impaired (DWI) cases.

Enhancing access to forensic science records
With the launch of our new website, Forensic Science Services has begun expanding access to section-specific public documents and discovery materials. The updated Breath Alcohol Calibration page now includes links to commonly requested records, with additional resources to be added regularly as part of our ongoing efforts. Looking ahead, Forensic Science Services will introduce a new standardized process for submitting discovery requests through the GovQA system—already in use for data practices. Stay tuned for more details coming in the new year.
