Internet crimes against children: criminal justice agency resources

Logo for the Minnesota Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA)-led Minnesota Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force works in partnership with criminal justice agencies across the state to prevent, educate and investigate internet crimes involving children. The Minnesota ICAC Task Force is part of the national ICAC Task Force Program, which allows for nationwide deconfliction and partnerships.

The Minnesota ICAC Task Force helps state and local law enforcement agencies develop an effective response to online enticement of minors and child sexual abuse material cases. This help encompasses forensic and investigative components, training and technical assistance, victim services and community education.

The Minnesota ICAC Task Force is the statewide clearinghouse for all cybertips with a Minnesota nexus that are received by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Law enforcement agencies can contact the BCA at 651-793-7000 for assistance with an ICAC-type investigation, or seek the assistance of a trained ICAC affiliate agency.
