CDL endorsements and restrictions
Testing and fees are required to add endorsements or remove restrictions from your commercial driver’s license (CDL).
To upgrade your driver’s license with an endorsement, you must pass a written test for each endorsement.
To renew a hazmat or school bus endorsement, you need to retake the written test. Other endorsements do not require a written test on renewal.
