Driver education group Class D knowledge testing

​Request a group ​Class D oral knowledge test​

Requirements:

  • ​Only two (2) sessions can be booked at a time.
  • Cannot book beyond 30 days out. Please do not request more than 30 days.
  • Must have at least 3 testers and no more than 7.
  • Appointments are given on a first come first serve basis due to limited availability.

Locations: Group oral exams are available at the Anoka, Eagan, Buffalo and downtown Saint Paul/Town Square exam stations.

You must include:

  • Location preference (Anoka, Eagan, Buffalo​ or downtown Saint Paul).
  • Number of testers (must be at least 3 and no more than 7).
  • The Minnesota ID number and pre-application confirmation number for each person taking the oral test. If the person taking the test does not have a Minnesota ID number, provide the tester's full name, date of birth and pre-application confirmation number.
  • Language.
  • Name and driver's license number of interpreters.

***You must notify DVS of any changes seven business days in advance of the appointment date. You are only allowed to make one change to each tester/interpreter group.

Important

  • Proper identification is required to take the test. If the tester does not have a Minnesota ID, they must have a valid form of ID to take the test. Primary and secondary identification is needed to apply for a Minnesota driver's license or ID card.
  • Show up at least 15 minutes before the appointment to check-in and verify identification documents.
  • Testers who show up late will not be allowed to test and will need to reschedule with the interpreter to take the test at a later date.  
  • DVS accepts checks or cash for retest fees.​​​​​​​
