Disability parking certificates
A disability parking certificate allows the vehicle to use designated parking spaces. The certificates are available in temporary, short-term, long-term, permanent disability, and organization certificates.
Qualifications
To qualify for disability parking certificate, the applicant must meet the eligibility criteria outlined in Minnesota Statute 169.346. An Application for Disability Parking Certificate must be completed by a health care professional. Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) will review the application and issue a parking certificate once approved.
Display
The parking certificate should only be displayed when the vehicle is parked. The certificate should not be hanging from the rear-view mirror while driving.
Fees
The parking certificate is $5 for temporary, short-term, and organization certificates.
There is no fee for long-term and permanent.
