Long-term recovery

Long-term recovery occurs over an extended period following a disaster in which public agencies and volunteer organizations assist individuals and communities that have been impacted to develop and implement recovery plans. Long-term recovery is unique to each event and the community(ies) impacted. Recovery activities are dependent on the type of disaster and available resources.
