Corporal Theodore J. “Ted”  Foss, SP 27
Served from November 1986 to August 31, 2000
Died in the line of duty August 31, 2000
 
Corporal Foss was killed after being hit by a semi while standing outside the squad car on a traffic stop in Winona, Minnesota.
 
Corporal Foss was survived by his wife, two children aged two and five, mother, brother and five sisters.
 
The section of roadway where Corporal Foss was struck was renamed the State Trooper Theodore 'Ted' Foss Memorial Highway. Shortly thereafter the Minnesota Legislature passed the Ted Foss Move Over Law which requires vehicles to move to the middle or far lane when passing an emergency or construction vehicle 
stopped on the roadway.

Corporal Timothy Bowe, SP489
Served from November 19 1982 to June 7, 1997
Died in the line of duty on June 7th, 1997
Corporal Bowe was shot and killed by a suspect while assisting the sheriff’s office with a shooting suspect in Cambridge, Minnesota.
 
Corporal Bowe was survived by his wife and two children, a six year old daughter and nine month old son.

Trooper Roger C. Williams, SP178
Served from February 15, 1952 to February 22, 1978
Died in the line of duty February 22, 1978
Trooper Williams was struck by a car while on foot during a traffic stop in Alexandria, Minnesota.
 
Trooper Williams was survived by his wife and three children.

Trooper Donald B. Ziesmer, SP180
Served June 3, 1960 to October 15, 1973
Died in the line of duty on October 15, 1973
Trooper Ziesmer died from gunshot wounds during a traffic stop on Highway 61 along the North shore of Lake Superior.
 
Trooper Ziesmer was survived by his wife, three daughters and his mother.

Trooper Glen A. Skalman, SP326
Served from October 4, 1961 to December 27, 1964
Died in the line of duty on December 27, 1964.
Trooper Skalman died due to gunshot wounds during a traffic stop near Forest Lake, Minnesota.
 
Trooper Skalman was survived by his wife, three children and his parents.

Trooper Ray F. Krueger, SP30
Served from March 15, 1934 to November 20, 1959
Died in the line of duty on November 20, 1959
Trooper Krueger died as a result of injuries sustained in a crash along Highway 210, west of Brainerd, Minnesota.
 
Trooper Krueger was survived by his wife and five children.

Trooper Roy C. Lichtenheld, SP68
Served from October 16, 1933 to October 3, 1934
Died in the line of duty on October 3rd, 1934
Trooper Lichtenheld died as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash along Snelling Avenue in St. Paul, Minnesota.
 
Trooper Lichtenheld was survived by his wife and son.

Trooper William S. Kozlak, SP52
Served from August 1, 1933 to April 25, 1934
Died in the line of duty on April 25th, 1934
Trooper Kozlak died as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash along Highway 52 near Osseo, Minnesota.
 
Trooper Kozlak was survived by his wife and young daughter.
