Current updates
Below is a summary of revisions to the Mandatory Inspection Program (MIP) manual that have been incorporated into the 2024 Student Handbook.
- p. ii – added contact info for new instructor: Joe Reith – 952-856-9137.
- p. 23 - Under “Reviews, Random Inspections and Audits” – clarifying language.
- An audit may include observation of inspection procedures.
- p. 23 – Under “Violation and Penalties” – gross misdemeanor information added.
- A person who, with the intent to defraud, falsely makes, duplicates, alters, or forges a decal or other writing or thing purporting to be a Minnesota inspection decal described in this subdivision is guilty of a gross misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $3000 and/or 1 year in jail.
- p. 65 – Language updated to match the federal regulation.
- Front axle beam and all other components steering components other than steering column.
- p. 83 – Update to change of information.
- Change of employment and address forms can now be submitted by email to: MIPinfochange@state.mn.us.
