Crime victim services grants

The Office of Justice Programs Crime Victim Grants Unit distributes approximately $62 million annually in state and federal funds to 178 agencies throughout Minnesota to provide direct advocacy services to victims of crime.

Depending on the services an agency provides, services may include crisis intervention, advocacy, group support, legal advocacy, transportation, shelter, accompaniment to appointments or court, assistance in seeking financial assistance or civil protection orders, and information and referral to other resources.

Funded agencies commit to ongoing staff development, providing community education and outreach, working with other criminal justice partners to improve the system and partnering with other professionals to promote cooperative services for victims.
