Apply for a new Emergency Medical Services Liaison grant opportunity
The Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) is offering a new grant opportunity to help reduce traffic fatalities after a crash. OTS is seeking proposals for an Emergency Medical Services Liaison (EMSL) who would work with EMS clinicians.
EMS clinicians provide post-crash care and are in a unique position to reduce traffic crash fatalities. The liaison’s tasks and services are described in the request for proposal (RFP) below.
Minimum qualifications for the liaison position include:
- A current or retired EMT or paramedic with extensive experience responding to traffic crashes and knowledge of Minnesota’s EMS system.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about prehospital blood transfusion and other emerging post-crash care practices.
- A strong desire to increase public safety using research-based practices to reduce fatalities after a crash.
- An understanding of the structure of Minnesota’s EMS system.
- Knowledge of the role of other state and local EMS agencies.
- Experience presenting substantive information to groups.
