Meet K-9 Bia

Meet Bia, a skilled German shorthaired pointer who is a vital member of the Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement team. With her remarkable sense of smell and specialized training, Bia excels at locating hidden U.S. currency in homes, vehicles, and even buried in yards.

Bia officially joined the team in the fall of 2022 after completing her initial training with the Minnesota State Patrol, where she learned to recognize currency odors and refine her search techniques.

She works closely with her handler, Assistant Special Agent in Charge Brad Rezny. Together, they train regularly to keep Bia’s skills sharp while tackling criminal cases involving illegal gambling, unlicensed alcohol sales, and stolen funds from charitable gambling.

Bia is certified by the North American Police Work Dog Association (NAPWDA).
