Blue Alert
A Blue Alert is issued when a law enforcement officer is killed, seriously wounded or is missing in the line of duty and a search is underway for the person(s) who may be involved.
A Blue Alert will include the information known to investigators at the time about the person(s) involved, any vehicles involved, and other information that may help locate them.
During a Blue Alert activation, anyone who sees a vehicle or person(s) matching the information provided in the alert is urged to dial 911 as soon as it is safe to do so. Members of the public should not approach or attempt to apprehend the subject of a Blue Alert.
There have been no Blue Alert activations since the alert’s inception in 2015.
