IRP and IFTA prorate license plates

These license plates also referred to as “Prorate plates.” IRP plates are affiliated with an established International Registration Plan (IRP) account and issued to qualified vehicles, as noted in the IRP Plan.

Vehicle must be part of proportionally registered interstate fleet based in Minnesota. 

Registration is based on vehicle gross weight.

They expire in February each year. The plate must display a year validation sticker and gross weight sticker.

Fees

​​​Registration fees are relevant to the mileage acquired in each jurisdiction traveled for all IRP vehicles.
